What You Need to Vote- Your Eligible Voting Division
Your Tax Notice indicates the Division in which you are entitled to vote.
The Division where a person is eligible to vote is determined by the first applicable clause below:
1. The Division in which the voter resides;
2. The Division in which the voter owns assessed property or, if property is owned in more than one Division, the Division where the total
assessment value is highest;
3. The Division where the voter holds a permit as the occupant of a trailer or mobile home.
Valid Identification
To vote, you must present one piece of valid identification that includes your photo, name, and address. The easiest option is a government-
issued photo ID.
Acceptable photo ID includes:
A valid Saskatchewan Driver’s Licence;
A valid Saskatchewan ID card issued by SGI or a motor licence issuer;
Any other government-issued photo ID (federal, provincial, or municipal) that includes your name and address.
Note: A Canadian passport is not accepted on its own, as it does not contain an address. However, it may be used with another document
that includes both your name and address.
Non-Photo Identification Options
If you do not have photo ID, you may provide two other pieces of identification—both must include your name, and one must include your
address.
Examples include:
Government-issued ID cards or certificates (Canadian, Saskatchewan, municipal, school division, Indian band, or Métis Nation of
Saskatchewan);
Correspondence, benefit or tax statements from government agencies;
Bank or credit union cards or statements;
Utility bills or statements issued within six months of the election date;
Letters of residence or admission forms from senior, student, or care facilities.
If you do not have any of the above, another eligible voter may vouch for you. More information on this option is available at the R.M. Office or
at the polling place on election day.
